AIM methodology

ASSESS
During this phase, the current state of BCM in the organization will be assessed against a desired state such as conformance to standard or a set of criteria, or other objectives. For example, BCP Asia can review the BCM against the requirements of BS 25999, SS 540, BCI GPG, or other standards and guidelines. The assessment results and recommendations for actions will then be presented to the senior management for their approval.

IMPLEMENT
The results of the ASSESS phase are implemented in this phase to close or narrow the gaps between the current state and the desired state. The implementation of the recommendations from the assessment allows the realization of the BCM enhancement. Exercise and testing are then applied to verify the BCM capability of the organization.

MAINTAIN
The BCM state achieved in the IMPLEMENT phase is maintained to ensure the BCM is up-to-date and fit-to purpose. This stage also allows the organization’s BCM to be continuously improved to reach higher maturity level.
