SS 540 : 2008 Singapore Standard for Business Continuity Management (BCM) 31st Oct 2008 marks an important day for Business Continuity Management Practitioners in Singapore. TR19 that was prepared by the Technical Committee on Business Continuity Management under the purview of the Management Systems Standards Committee in 2005, has formally been accepted as a National Standard by the Singapore National Council. After a two year trial implementation, TR19 was reviewed by the Technical Committee to determine the feasibility of its transition to a Singapore Standard (SS), subsequently resulting in the development of SS 540 : 2008 which has replaced TR19.
