Henry Ee is the founder and Managing Director of Business Continuity Planning Asia (BCP Asia).
With more than 18 years of Business Continuity, IT-Disaster Recovery and Crisis Management experience, Henry has undertaken over 300 BCM projects spanning across Asia Pacific, including Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Hong Kong, Macau, Saudi Arabia, Australia, China and Thailand. His BCM consultancy services were provided to a wide span of industries including Banking & Finance, Supply-Chain, Logistics, Manufacturing, Telecommunication, Information Technology, Transportation, Electronics, Healthcare, Educational as well as the Public Sector. Henry has also trained and guided over 5000 professionals across Asia, some of them moving forward to attain their professional BCM certification. Prior to starting the company in year 2000, he gained practical experience as an end-user through holding senior positions as Regional BCP Manager in 2 international banks, ABN AMRO and JP Morgan Chase, where he rolled out comprehensive regional BCP programs and rigorous trainings & exercises.
Henry is active on the conference circuit as well as organising and conducting training in the area of Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery and Crisis Management. During his career, Henry had successfully activated the recovery plans for strikes, Y2K, 911, SARS and H1N1. His other areas of expertise include Design, Setup and Management of the Business Recovery Centre, with vast experience in areas of Project Planning, Risk Evaluation & Control, Business Impact Analysis, Recovery Strategy & Emergency Response, Plan Development & Implementation, Training & Awareness Program and Testing & Maintenance of the BCP.
Henry is also the first Asian to be elected to the Board of BCI (UK) and was later awarded with the Lifetime Achievement Award by BCI in October 2010. He also contributed to the development of standards as member of the Standards Committee for SS540:2008 Singapore BCM Standard and as member of the working committee for BS25999 development, SS507 Singapore IT-DR standard, ISO22301, BC standard development for ASIS (US) and China BCM standard. He is currently a member for standards development for ASIS (US) ISO22313 for Spring Singapore and BCM Standard in China. He is also a member of IAEM.
Henry graduated from University of Essex (UK), with a Bachelor of Engineering with First Class Honours in Electronics Systems Engineering and he is also fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese and is able to conduct trainings and workshops in any of the 3 languages.
