Henry Ee (FBCI, CBCP) is the Founder and Managing Director of BCP Asia. In 2015, he was appointed as the President for Business Continuity Institute Asia Chapter.
Having been in the business continuity profession for more than 17 years, he has been actively contributing to the industry’s wider understanding in business continuity.
Henry earned his academic degree at the University of Essex (UK) where he majored in Electronics Systems Engineering with first class honours. He is currently a professionally certified FBCI and CBCP by the two well-renowned institutions – the Business Continuity Institute, UK and Disaster Recovery Institute International, US. Henry is the Regional Director of BCI (Asia) since 2008 and he was the first Asian to serve as a BCI Board Member in 2006. In contributing to the business continuity industry, was involved in setting up the BCM Standards: Singapore Standard SS540:2008, British Standard BS25999:2007, US ASIS, ISO22313:2013, China GBT 30146-2013. He was officially appointed as the BCM Auditor for SPRING Singapore and various certification bodies. In 2006, Henry was also the founding member of the Business Continuity Group (BCG) and advisor for the China BCM Committee (CBCM).
Henry is active on the conference circuit as well as organizing and conducting training in the area of Business Continuity and related area, Disaster Recovery and Crisis Management. In his over 17 years of experience, he has implemented more than 300 projects and trained more than 5,000 professionals in business continuity management. During his career, Henry had successfully activated the recovery plans for strikes, Y2K, 911, SARS and H1N1. Prior to this, Henry held two senior positions in two international banks namely ABN Amro and JP Morgan Chase where he started his BCM career.
Henry is also the first Asian to be elected to the Board of BCI (UK) and was later awarded with the Lifetime Achievement Award by BCI in October 2010. He also contributed to the development of standards as member of the Standards Committee for SS540:2008 Singapore BCM Standard and as member of the working committee for BS25999 development, SS507 Singapore IT-DR standard, ISO22301, BC standard development for ASIS (US) and China BCM standard. He is currently a member for standards development for ASIS (US) ISO22313 for Spring Singapore and BCM Standard in China. He is also a member of IAEM.
Apart from training, Henry has executed many consultancy projects for companies in the Financial, Information Technology, Logistics, Manufacturing, Transportation, Telecommunication and Healthcare industries from around Asia namely Singapore, Hong Kong, China, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Mauritius, Macau, Australia and Middle East.
In BCP Asia’s journey of BCM programme leading to certification, Henry chaired the BCM Steering Committee. Under his drive and supervision, BCP Asia achieved dual BCM Certifications in BS25999-2:2007 and SS540:2008, and now ISO22301:2012.
