Henry Ee (FBCI, CBCP, ACTA) is the Founder and Managing Director of BCP Asia.
He has been in the business continuity profession for more than 20 years, actively contributing to the industry’s wider understanding in business continuity, risk management and related disciplines. Henry is currently appointed as the Chairman for the BCI Asia Chapter (Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong and China) and as the Vice President for RIMAS. Henry is also a working group member of the Public-Private Partnership in UNISDR since 2016, looking into Disaster Risk Management in the region. In contributing to the business continuity industry, Henry was invited in setting up the BCM Standards: Singapore Standard SS540:2008, British Standard BS25999:2007, US ASIS, ISO22313:2013, China GBT 30146-2013. He has been invited to be part of the audit committee as a technical expert by certification bodies (including SPRING Singapore) to conduct certification audits.
Henry started out as a Business Continuity Manager, overseeing the regional BCMS program for two global banks : ABN AMRO Bank and JP Morgan Chase. Prior to joining the banks, he was with SingTel, as a Project Manager overseeing the development of Telepark, then the recovery or alternate backup facility site for many banks and MNCS. It was then he founded his passion for Business Continuity and IT Disaster Recovery.
Since 2000, when BCP Asia was established, Henry personally conducts trainings and provide consulting advisory services. To date, he has implemented more than 350 projects and trained more than 5000 professionals across Financial, Information Technology, Logistics, Manufacturing, Transportation, Telecommunication and Healthcare industries from around Asia namely Singapore, Philippines, Bangladesh, Hong Kong, China, Malaysia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Mauritius, Macau, Australia and Saudi Arabia. An active speaker, Henry has been invited to speak in conferences and seminars, sharing his experience as a practitioner. He is also being invited as a judge to the Risk Management competition (final) by the Singapore Universities, organised by NTU Risk Management society.
Henry earned his academic degree at the University of Essex (UK) where he majored in Electronics Systems Engineering with first class honours. He is currently a professionally certified BCM practitioner as FBCI and CBCP by the the Business Continuity Institute, UK and Disaster Recovery Institute International, US. He is a member of IAEM, US. As a trainer, he is ACTA certified, certified trainer by PECB, EXIN and the BCI(UK). Henry is the first Asian to be elected to the Board of BCI (UK) and was later awarded with the Lifetime Achievement Award by BCI in October 2010.
